Vagamon has nothing to do with Agememnon (from the Helen of Troy chronicles). This is a hill station in Kerala. It is about 64 kms from Kottayam, the nearest Railway station. The journey to the place is a treat to the eyes if you are not the kind who gets dizzy with hair pin bends.
I liked the place but it was tragic, the way people had left it... full of garbage or cattle shedding their waste!!! We visited the grasslands which is a good trek, the Pine valley which was very beautiful but trashed miserably and Kurisumala (the hill of Cross), a Christian pilgrim spot. The place is excellent for trekking. You have loads and loads of hills to climb. Below are some pictures...

Excellent pictures. Thanks for posting them here. Hopefully these would help take tourists to this and other relatively unknown tourist spots and help in their development.

From one Maya 2 another Maya,
Thnk u dear.
Synaptic,
Ya I wish v all did our lil bit where ever v go, inspite of what others do.
Melody,
Ya, its much cooler up there but not as cold as Munnar. There's always a gentle breeze. The best part about the place is the trekking. Lovely spot 4 trekking, the terrain is not too difficult.
Matheikal,
Glad I cud take u bk 2 ur childhood 4 a few seconds :)
Usha,
Now I'm confused. Their Original name is the grassland & i didn't C much of it there. Wen they said Muttakunnu, I thot it was cos of the barren look like an egg!!!!
Kalyani,
Thank u dear :)
Tanushri,
Don't b in a hurry. Its actually a very tiring ride and u gotta do a lotta climbing 2 reach all these places. It wud b better 2 b there at leisure.... i luved the treks.
